Having
access to quality health care is very important to everyone,
and the residents of Mount Pleasant benefit from having access
to Henry County Health Center, a 99-bed hospital which has
been recognized nationally, regionally, and locally for providing
superior, exceptional programs and services. Henry County
Health Center is a modern, progressive facility whose physicians,
nurses, technicians, technologists and staff not only have
the skills and capabilities to meet the health care needs
of the area residents, but also have the compassion and kindness
to offer the attentive, personalized care that is only possible
in a rural setting. An exampleof HCHC's philosophy of treating
the patient as an individual is the atmosphere of its long
term care unit. Park Place houses 49 residents who enjoy plants,
birds, pets, and visiting children in an effort to focus on
life and living and to eliminate the three plagues of nursing
home: boredom, helplessness, and loneliness.
HCHC has been successful in its quest to merge technology
with tenderness. HCHC has a reputation for offering quality,
progressive services. They have been the first in the region
to offer certain programs, equipment or procedures. They have
been the leaders in many health care areas and assisted other
hospitals in establishing services, such as renal dialysis.
HCHC was the first in the area to offer a multi-slice, spiral
CT Scanner which enables HCHC physicians to offer revolutionary
procedures such as cardiac scoring (a non-invasive heart disease
predictor screening), lung cancer screenings, CT endoscopy
(virtual colonoscopy and bronchoscopy) and many other CT applications
in a matter of seconds.
Whether you are having a baby, undergoing a screening, benefiting
from rehabilitation services, or joining the residents of
Park Place, HCHC's staff and physicians will treat you like
family and care for you with their hearts as well as their
hands. Visit HCHC's website at www.hchc.org
to discover more about this unique health care facility.
Housed in the health care facility is Healthy Henry County
Communities, an organization that focuses on quality of life
issues through programs, such as Family Connection, Mothers
of Mentors, the Nest, Substance Abuse Free Environment, Henry
County Mediation, Diversity Action Team, Welcome Mat, and
Senior Health Family Medicine of Mount Pleasant, P.C. consists
of 11 physicians and two physician assistants. Their specialties
include family practice, family practice with obstetrics,
internal medicine, and nephrology. FMMP formed in 1990 and
is now located in a new medical office building attached to
HCHC. The physicians, physician assistants, and staff are
dedicated to providing patients with total care, from birth
throughout their entire lives. The physicians are committed
to each patient and his or her individual needs and place
a priority on getting to know the whole person and treating
that person, not just the illness.
