Excellent
healthcare is available in this region, thanks in part to the commitment
of the regional hospital, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.
Since joining the Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation in 1993,
BMH-GT has shown continuous growth. A major construction and renovation
project, completed in 1998, doubled the size of the hospital. A new
39-bed emergency room, 18-bed critical care unit, plus additional surgical
suites were added to better serve patients. The 328-bed Baptist Memorial
Hospital-Golden Triangle medical center is Mississippi’s seventh
largest provider of medical/surgical services and one of two Level II
Trauma centers in the northern region of the state.
Opened in 1998, a four-story ambulatory center provides expanded outpatient
diagnostic imaging services. A new cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation
facility, pre-admission testing, outpatient surgery and physician offices
are all part of this impressive facility.
In keeping with its mission of providing quality health care for the
region, Baptist-Golden Triangle offers the region’s first comprehensive
cancer center. The Cancer Center offers both medical and radiation oncology,
and recently became the first in the region to offer a new method of
treatment called high dose rate (HDR) Brachytherapy. HDR Brachytherapy
is a safer and more effective form of cancer treatment, used primarily
to treat cancers of the prostate, lung and female reproductive system.
Baptist-Golden Triangle is also home of the Thad Cochran Perinatal Facility,
which features six beautiful labor/delivery/recovery suites, a well
baby nursery and a Level II neonatal intensive care unit. Additionally,
a variety of services are available to the community, including Hospice
for the terminally ill, Willowbrook Center for Behavioral Health Care
and a Wellness Center. Educational programs, support groups and classes
are also offered as a community service.
This regional hospital offers a full range of services to care for your
heart, from diagnosis and treatment, to open-heart surgery and cardiac
rehabilitation programs.
The growth of Baptist-Golden Triangle into a regional medical center
assures area residents that their health care needs can be met at home.
A highly qualified medical staff of more than 100 medical and surgical
specialties, as well 1000-plus skilled and caring employees, are dedicated
to this goal.
