Duke Health Raleigh Hospital (DHRH) has been an important member of the Duke University Health System family since 1998 and has served Wake County residents for nearly 30 years. DHRH offers high-quality diagnostic, therapeutic, rehabilitation, prevention, support and health education services within a patient-friendly atmosphere.

DHRH is a 186-bed hospital providing a comprehensive array of services, including the Duke Health Raleigh Cancer Center. The Cancer Center offers cutting-edge technology and comprehensive, multidisciplinary services for oncology patients. The center includes patient navigators ease patients through their therapy as well as a full array of support services and educational facilities.

The Duke Health Raleigh Cardiovascular Center provides advanced cardiac care. The center offers state-of-the-art diagnostic technologies, sophisticated treatment options, collaborative care and education.

Just off Raleigh’s Beltline and Interstate 40 is the main Rex Healthcare campus. Located on Lake Boone Trail, the 394-bed, all-private-room Rex Hospital is part of the renowned UNC Health Care System. Rex is home to the Triangle’s first and only nationally accredited chest pain center and the area’s most advanced vascular diagnostics center. Rex Family Birth Center has delivered more babies than any other Wake County hospital. Rex offers mobile mammography and the area’s most comprehensive breast care center. Rex surgery centers perform more procedures than any other facility in Wake County. At WakeMed Health & Hospitals, the staff’s mission truly is “A passion for care.” WakeMed is Wake County’s largest hospital system, with 752 beds, nearly 1,000 physicians and 6,100 nurses, technologists, medical professionals and support staff, all of whom skillfully deliver the other half of WakeMed’s mission: “The power to heal.”

With the main campus in Raleigh, a full-service hospital in Cary and seven facilities offering outpatient services, outpatient rehab and skilled nursing care, WakeMed treats more than 1 million patients and welcomes more than 6,300 babies into the world each year. The center is a teaching hospital affiliated with the UNC-CH medical school.

WakeMed is home to the busiest heart center in North Carolina and is ranked ninth among the top 10 cardiovascular surgery hospitals in the United States and 20th among the top 50 hospitals nationally.

In addition to providing outstanding comprehensive medical, surgical and psychiatric care, UNC Health Care is a leader in health promotion and disease prevention. UNC Hospitals is a 688-bed facility serving people from all over North Carolina and the Southeast.

Since 2001, new babies and their families have been welcomed at the new North Carolina Children’s Hospital and North Carolina Women’s Hospital, state-of-the-art facilities that offer high-quality health care in family-oriented environments.

In addition to women’s and children’s services, various UNC Health Care centers specialize in the care of the cardiovascular system, the breasts, the lungs and the spine, as well as in rehabilitation, wound management and comprehensive transplant procedures. The center’s extensive programs in arthritis, digestive diseases, endocrinology, ENT, gynecology, hemophilia, infertility, orthopedics and rheumatology have achieved national recognition.
