Higher Education
There are six colleges in the immediate Northern Allegheny
County area, which offer higher educational degrees and certificate
programs, as well as another eight colleges in the surrounding
areas.
La Roche
Colleges campus, located in the heart of the North
Hills, sprawls over 80 acres and hosts approximately 1,600
students.
La Roche offers a variety of majors, and a graduate program
in Human Resources Management.
The Community
College of Allegheny County North Campus has an
enrollment of l l,000 credit students and 37,000 non-credit
students. CCAC North offers more than 80 academic programs
designed for either transferring to a university or for starting
a career.

Chatham College
North campus offers a variety of programs of study for over
100 students looking to pursue further education. Their programs
include masters degrees in teaching, management and
non-fiction writing, counseling, psychology and communications
technology.
Located in Cranberry, Carlow
College North Campus offers women over 30 undergraduate
majors within six divisions, as well as masters programs
in education, professional leadership and nursing. Carlow
is also one of a few four-year colleges in the nation to offer
a baccalaureate degree in biology with certification in perfusion
technology.
Waynesburg
College North Hills Center, located in Wexford,
currently offers students three programs to choose from, including
an undergraduate business program, an RN to BSN undergraduate
degree and an MBA graduate program. All programs are offered
in an accelerated format to accommodate an adults busy
lifestyle.
And the newest addition to the educational circle in the area
is Slippery Rock
University. Slippery Rock University offers an Applied
Technology Management track of the Bachelor of Science in
Applied Science degree among many other programs. The university
is located at its new North Hills site, at the Waterfront
Corporate Park near Interstate 79, Wexford. A convenient computer
lab also adds a technological component to the program of
study, and an innovative ITV classroom allows faculty to conduct
courses via videoconferencing in several locations.
