Simpsonville is part of the Greenville County School District, a system with more than 60,000 students. It is the largest public school system in South Carolina and the 66th largest in the nation. Simpsonville also benefits by several private schools in the area, including Southside Christian, Shannon Forest and St. Joseph's High School.

The public schools in Simpsonville are among the district's award winners for excellence. The school district also offers enhanced programs such as the International Baccalaureate Diploma program at Southside High School.

Parental participation in public education is a tradition in Simpsonville. A recent report showed over 170,000 volunteer hours logged in the six elementary schools, over 20,000 volunteer hours in the two middle schools and over 130,000 volunteer hours in the high school that serve the immediate Simpsonville area.
The Brashier Campus of Greenville Technical College, located about three miles west of Simpsonville, on West Georgia Road, maintains close links with Simpsonville. The Brashier Campus offers accredited college transfer courses, innovative technical programs, and industry specific training in a variety of fields, plus makes its facilities open to many community groups and activities. Other institutions of higher learning located within a short drive from Simpsonville include Bob Jones University, Furman University, Clemson University and Presbyterian College.

The Simpsonville Area Chamber maintains a vice president-education position on its board who chairs an education committee to ensure linkage between local business and community schools.

Education Committee

A community would not survive without their "Leaders of Tomorrow." Therefore, the Education Committee strives to mesh the area businesses and the community schools. This committee works with local schools to promote such projects as finding speakers for Career Days and funding special endeavors for Red Ribbon Week. The Chamber incorporates and encourages the various academic, athletic, or civic organizations at the high school level, to volunteer for as many Chamber projects as possible. We are indebted to these high school students for their work on our web page, making our Labor Day Festival a success, and for their involvement in our Christmas Parade.
