Chamber of Commerce
IT IS A GOOD TIME TO BE IN OAK RIDGE,” states Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce 2005 Chairman of the Board John McKittrick. McKittrick, president/CEO of ORNL Federal Credit Union, notes the world-class research science taking place at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the modernization of the Y-12 Nuclear Weapons Complex, the renovation of Oak Ridge High School, a $40 million facelift for the award-winning Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, and increases in retail and residential development projects as some of the reasons why.
The Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce is facilitating this success. With the mission of “enhancing the economic vitality of the greater Oak Ridge area while providing value to our members,” the organization focuses on six strategic program areas:
Community Image • Housing and Population
Membership • Political Action • Special Projects
Job Creation and Capital Investment
Sales tax collections are climbing, new housing starts are up and school enrollment is higher than expected this year. Oak Ridge is a great place to live, to work, to play, to raise families and to educate children. Call the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce at 865-483-1321 or visit www.orcc.org for more information.
