More
than 50 manufacturers, including large companies, such as
Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Inc., Roundy's and Milwaukee
Regional Medical Center call our city home. Numerous mid-sized
and small enterprises are nestled throughout Wauwatosa and
are the backbone of many of our neighborhoods. Service-based
companies-financial institutions, professional development
and training, insurance companies, and a variety of distribution
businesses-are important segments of our commercial community.
The City invites and encourages technology-based companies
to settle into Milwaukee County Research Park, where green
space and extensive wooded areas promote innovation in a nurturing
climate. At the heart of the Park is the Technology Innovation
Center-a state-of-the-art business incubator where these growing
companies benefit from the relaxed, synergistic, and campus-like
surroundings. Affiliations with Marquette University, the
Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee School of Engineering,
and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee provide tenants
with access to laboratories, libraries, specialized equipment,
and faculty.
Redevelopment is important for business growth in Wauwatosa.
Cooperative efforts among the City, State, and local organizations
help transform blighted or brownfields properties into thriving
business zones. Our community has a history of industry and
industrious people, and we're working together to help businesses
grow and thrive in the global economy.
